The 2024 Costa N. Miller Award

Each year, the Costa N. Miller Award is presented to two outstanding human service professionals employed by an INARF Member Organization whose primary responsibilities include direct contact with persons served and who exhibit passionate support and dedication to high-quality supports and services to individuals with disabilities. The award aids the recipient in their everyday life as they serve their community. All submitters are required to describe how this award would benefit persons served and the agency for whom they work. It includes a monetary award in the amount of $1,500. Each INARF member was able to submit two nominations, and the winners were announced at this year's INARF 2024 Conference for DSPs in September. Learn more about this year's Costa N. Miller Award Recipients below!

Who was Costa N. Miller?
Costa N. Miller’s life of caring for others spanned over three decades of tireless and invaluable leadership as INARF’s first President/CEO. Those years of service earned him the honor of being named a Sagamore of the Wabash by four different governors for his outstanding contributions to the state of Indiana and to people with disabilities. Mr. Miller served four years as chair of the Governor’s Planning Council for People with Disabilities and was appointed vice-chair of The President’s Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities. This award fund was established in 1999 to recognize his passionate commitment to the human service industry. Contributions may be made throughout the year.
