OneIndiana
In 2005, the State of Indiana launched Operating with New Efficiency - OneIndiana - an initiative to leverage the purchasing power of state agencies to ultimately save money for Indiana taxpayers. This initiative strives to unify state agencies to work more efficiently for Hoosier taxpayers by delivering the best quality and cost-effective goods and services.

OneIndiana is a strategic purchasing approach that works. As local governmental entities work together and take advantage of state-negotiated Quantity Purchasing Agreements (QPAs), the combined volume purchasing has meant lower prices on thousands of goods and services from hundreds of vendors. This translates into millions of dollars of savings for Hoosier taxpayers. Some examples of savings since mid-2006 include:
  • Over $8 million on road salt
  • $1.1 million on office supplies
  • $1.2 million in maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) products

Through OneIndiana's catalog, cities, towns and local communities can take advantage of state QPAs, saving municipalities money and helping employ people with disabilities by purchasing from certified Ability Indiana organizations. When communities buy from Ability Indiana, they purchase guaranteed quality goods and services at the best competitive prices, and create life-enhancing opportunities for Hoosiers with disabilities.
